Summer Snapshots #3: RED FORTS-WHITE MARBLE-BLUE WATERS "On the constant lookout for new places to explore, I went on a mini getaway right after my exams. From the bustling streets of Melbourne to the colourful and serene visual feast, I found myself in India - a land like no other. I had a chance to explore the haunting loneliness and majestic beauty of the beautiful red buildings at Fatehpur-Sikri, a quaint 16th century city, and the architecture marvel dressed in red sandstone and dotted with black and white marble- The Buland Darwaza, literally translating to the “Gate of Victory” in Agra. With the end of my cultural journey through Delhi Agra Rajasthan, I can’t wait to fly back to Australia for another mini get away to dive into the deep blue waters of the tranquil bay lining the coast of the smallest continent - Byron Bay" - Kavya Allaparthi (@kavyaallaparthi)
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY 💫 Change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s an ongoing process of repeating positive actions over and over and over until they become second nature. As you head into the new year, think about something you’d like to put into practice. Then set yourself the task of acting on this goal consistently. Be disciplined in your pursuit and you’ll be amazed by the results. Seriously. Excellence is not achieved over night but rather, through an ongoing cycle of self-improvement.
Summer Snapshots #2: AUSTRALIA-AMERICA-AUSTRALIA "Anyone that has taken a class with me, knows on more than one occasion that I sit in class & dream of my next getaway (shoutout to my Project Management group). So, as usual I had my bags packed & was ready to jet off less than 24 hours after my final exam ended. Destination: Byron Bay, for a week of much needed sun and relaxation. Although I enjoyed spending endless days (and nights) staring at my computer at the uni library studying for exams, the serene sound of waking up to the ocean with a coffee in hand was a much appreciated break. From laying at the beach reading, to surfing, to hiking, to amazing waterfalls in the Gold Coast Hinterlands, this mini vacation was the best start to the summer break. With my next flight back to the States soon, to celebrate a white Christmas back home in New York, a weeks vacation in Tasmania, and then the Melbourne Business Practicum, I can't wait to see what this next year has in store. Bring it on!👊🏼" - Ali Bromberg ( @abrom1022 )
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY 💫 Interested in pursuing something but don’t feel like you’re adequately qualified or have the tools and the know-how to do so successfully? You’d be surprised by how much you’re actually capable of and shouldn’t underestimate your abilities and capacity to learn as you go. Over the break, challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone. Whether that means applying for the dream job/internship that you’re not sure you’re ready for, or undertaking a personal project that you’ve talked yourself out of pursuing, just do it. ✔️
Summer Snapshots #1: CAMBODIAN CULTURE "I always rush out for a vacation after exams, but this time hurts because I know I'm not going back to MBS. I'm going to miss being a student & having so much fun at uni but I'm looking forward to the graduation ceremony. I just visited Cambodia & can't get over its history, beautiful temples & delicious food (including bugs🦂) The people here are so friendly and elevate your experience. Besides the famous Angkor Wat (mind blowing!), the genocide museums & killing fields are a must see. If you plan on visiting, do try to read up on their history or watch the ‘killing fields’ documentary to understand and embrace the historical events of the country. It's a place I'd definitely recommend people to visit 😊" - Ria Bhargava (@riabhargava9)
