"At the end of my Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University, I had to make a decision about what I wanted my future to look like, and how best to achieve it. I knew that I liked numbers and problem solving, but also enjoyed writing and working with others. With this in mind, I chose the Master of Management, as I thought that the course would give me the best chance of combining all of my skills into a career path that felt right for me.β£

There are many things that I love about MBS, but in particular, the diversity in the student body astounds me. From the different backgrounds, whether it be their undergraduate degree, work experience or culture, I feel like I always have something new to learn from every person I meet. Additionally, the amount of opportunities that are available at MBS is incredible and have been such a highlight for me. The breadth of both student-run and faculty-based activities and opportunities on offer means that every week can be jam-packed full of stimulating activities.β£

During the holidays between my first and second semester at MBS, I was lucky enough to receive a full-time job offer to work as a Laser Scientist, which meant that I had to switch from full-time to part-time studies. However, the flexibility the degree allows for made this transition very smooth, and although it has been a challenge to study alongside full-time work, I feel privileged to be able to keep up my studies through night classes. Upon the completion of my degree, I hope to transition my career into something more management or marketing based within the science industry sector.β£

To any new incoming students to MBS, I would say to make the most of every opportunity given to you and try to constantly challenge yourself. MBS is such a wonderful environment for self-growth, through both the degrees themselves and the amazing people you will meet, where you will undoubtedly develop yourself if you make the most of the opportunities around you."β£
